University pathway
Students must meet the
ATAR eligibility (PDF, 404KB) requirements if they are planning tertiary studies.
The school will help students qualify for a QCE.
Application Form for Access Arrangements and Reasonable Adjustments (AARA)
For Year 10, 11 and 12 students
AARA are provided to minimise barriers for a student whose disability, impairment, medical condition or other circumstances may affect their ability to read, respond to or participate in assessment. Students are not eligible for AARA on the following grounds:
- Unfamiliarity with the English language
- Teacher absence or other teacher-related difficulties
- Matters the student could have avoided (e.g. misreading the exam timetable or instructions)
- Matters of the student’s or parent’s/carer’s own choosing (e.g. family holiday or sporting events)
Application for AARA year 10, 11 and 12 (PDF, 77.4B)
AARA medical report (DOCX, 124KB)
AARA student statement (DOCX, 61.9KB)
AARA school statement (DOCX, 165KB)
Application Form for School Approved Absence (SAA)
For Year 10, 11 and 12 students
Students may engage in a range of learning experiences or activities that exist outside traditional school-based activities. These activities may involve prolonged absences from school and do not meet the requirements for Access Arrangements and Reasonable Adjustments (AARA). Situations that are of the student’s or parent/carer’s own choosing (e.g. family holidays and reunions) are not eligible for consideration (Page 106 of QCE/QCIA Handbook).
If a SAA is approved and the student will be absent the day the assessment is due, the following actions apply:
For examinations – a comparable examination will be administered to the student before the absence.
For non-examinations – students are required to submit/present the assessment on or before the due date.

Workforce pathway
Students study 6 subjects, mainly Applied Subjects and may or may not include a Vocational Education and Training certificate (VET). Students qualify for a QCE.
Senior education and training plan
It is during the compulsory year 10 into 11 interview that students and their parents establish a Senior Education and Training plan (SET).
Work experience
All year 10 students have the opportunity to participate in the work experience program during the last week of term 2.
All senior secondary students are able to participate in a work experience program during the school holidays. Expressions of interest can be made to Mrs Hayley Murphy, VET Coordinator - hmurp70@eq.edu.au
School-based apprenticeships and traineeships
Students in years 10, 11 and 12 are eligible to do a
school-based apprenticeship or traineeship (PDF, 490KB). For further details, please contact VET Coordinator, Mrs Hayley Murphy, VET Coordinator -

Alternate Pathways
The compulsory phase of schooling ends when a student turns 16 or finishes Year 10 – whichever occurs first. Once students have entered the compulsory participation of school, they are eligible to leave school. Our Transition Pathways Officer (TPO) assists students to find future life pathways. For further details, please contact TPO, Mrs Vicky Wilson –

Religious instruction is not currently offered at this school.
