All Students are Scholars

Aligned to the 5 school values, the All Students Are Scholars (PDF, 940KB) program aims to provide scholars with a toolkit for focusing on academic success. The program gives a set of clear expectations and standards by which scholars in the Junior Secondary phase will adhere to, enabling better preparation for learning. The All Students Are Scholars program centres on the poster which is displayed in all classrooms.

QCE Ready

A key element to the Junior Secondary phase of learning is the QCE Ready (PDF, 1473KB) program. This enables students to track their results, set academic goals, and be provided with support from the school and home to achieve academic success. The program follows the journey of our Junior Secondary scholars through the following:

  • Year 7 - goal setting lessons, and an introduction to the program
  • Year 8 – setting goals, tracking progress, and academic support and intervention
  • Year 9 – setting goals, tracking progress, academic support and intervention, SET planning, and QCE Ready acknowledgment

Academic improvement and success in Junior Secondary will provide the foundation for future progress in Senior Secondary and beyond.

Subject changes - Year 9

changes can occur in the first 2 weeks of the year, the last 2 weeks of Semester 1, and the first 2 weeks of Semester 2. Subject change forms are available to scholars in Year 9 and can be collected from the Senior Schooling office, downstairs E Block. You must ensure all sections are completed in full and that deadlines have been met. Part of this process is meeting with the Head of Department Junior Secondary to discuss options and review academic progress to ensure desired subjects are appropriate, available, and that scholars will be able to demonstrate academic success.

Senior Education and Training Plan

Scholars in year 9 will participate in a compulsory interview during term 3. This includes a review of subject selections for the following year and a discussion about their chosen pathway into the Senior phase of learning. Scholars are required to provide details through OneSchool about their possible future careers and study pathways in order to provide the best advice on subject selections and future options.

Religious instruction is not currently offered at this school.
