At Trinity Bay State High School the physical education department has a long and proud history of being a very successful and high functioning department that offers a diverse range of opportunities for students. The staff are motivated, enthusiastic and highly student orientated.

Special programs
The leading Rugby League Excellence academy in FNQ is an elite pathway for boys and girls to become professional rugby league players. The program gives FNQ students access to NRL pathways through our development partnership with the North Queensland Cowboys. Students can stay at home with families and do not have to move away from the region to access pathways to the NRL. For more info

Senior secondary
Students interested in an academic pathway can study Physical Education in senior schooling. This subject provides students with opportunities to explore and enhance their own and others health and physical activity. Student will gain a deep understanding in, about and through the engagement in physical education of how interconnected these dimensions are.
Students seeking a vocational option can study the below subjects
- Certificate 3 in Fitness
- Sport and Recreation
Junior secondary
Students will participate in an engaging curriculum which equips students with the ability to positively influence their own health and wellbeing now and into the future. The specific offering each year in junior HPE is unique to each class and dependant on student and staff strengths as well as facilities available.
School Sport
Trinity Bay State High School has long been recognised within the local community as a strong and successful sporting school. Our students have achieved outstanding results across a wide range of sports at local, regional, state, national, and international levels.
Throughout the year, students have the opportunity to participate in whole-school sporting carnivals as well as represent the school in numerous sporting teams. Sports traditionally offered include:

TCC and Peninsula Sport
Stages to trial for TCC and progress to Peninsula
Step 1 – Nomination
Visit the HPE Kiosk and add your details to the relevant sport nomination form. Your eligibility and clearance status will be checked before progressing to the next stage.
Step 2 – Collection of Trial Information
Once cleared, students will receive a TCC Trial Form and a Peninsula School Sport Permission/Details Booklet specific to their chosen sport. These documents contain important information, including trial dates, venues, and times.
Step 3 – Parent Completion of Peninsula Forms
Students may also download the Peninsula School Sport Permission/Details Booklet.

Step 4 – Return Documentation
The completed Peninsula School Sport Permission/Details Booklet must be returned to the HPE Kiosk so that the School Delegate can review and sign the document.
Step 5 – Attend TCC Trials
Students must bring the completed and signed Peninsula School Sport Permission/Details Booklet to the TCC trial and hand it to the coach. Students who do not provide a signed booklet will not be permitted to trial.
Step 6 – Progression to Peninsula Trials
Students who are successful at the TCC trial will progress to the Peninsula trials. The TCC coach will take the student's Peninsula School Sport Permission/Details Booklet to the next level of competition along with the remainder of the TCC team documentation.
