I am the deputy principal responsible for senior schooling. This means that it is my job to ensure that 100% of students achieve:
- an OP and enter university
- a clear VET pathway to employment
- paid employment of 25+ hours a week or
- alternative pathways for some students with special needs.
Trinity Bay State High School also has a commitment of 100% of students achieving a QCE (Queensland certificate of education). We have achieved this goal for three years in a row, and intend to continue this tradition!
Like the other deputies, I also have responsibilities for year levels. In 2019, I am the deputy in charge of year 10 and 12. My areas of responsibility include enrolling new students, reinforcing expectations on parade and in classrooms, monitoring student progress and addressing any shortfalls in student behaviour. There are other people in the school that have more direct contact with students, such as teachers, year coordinators and heads of departments, and most issues can be resolved by these people in the first instance. However, should a problem persist or be of a serious nature, then I am more than happy to step in and sort it out.
