Cairns weather
Australia is a huge country with enormous climatic differences. the weather to the north of the country is hot and tropical, while southern areas may experience extremely cold winters with snow falls in the mountains.
Because Cairns is not far from the equator, the weather is warm to hot throughout the year. The hottest months are also the wettest months. This means that from November to April, the weather is very hot and humid with daytime temperatures averaging around 30-33 degrees.
From May through to September is considered to be the 'holiday season' or the best time to be in Cairns. The daytime temperatures average approximately 25-26 degrees with sunny clear skies and night time temperatures that are refreshing and cool.
Cairns is considered by many to be a 'tropical paradise' with tourists from all over the world visiting the many attractions that it is famous for.
