The languages department is responsible for the teaching of Chinese (Mandarin), Japanese, Au​slan and English as an additional language/dialect (EAL/D).

Year 7 and 8 students study either Japanese or Chinese. From year 9 onwards students can select to continue their studies in these languages. In the senior years both Japanese and Chinese are Queensland curriculum and assessment authority subjects.

The EAL/D prog​​​ra​​m is specifically to assist students new to Australia to learn English. A range of support is provided from full time intensive to fully integrated with assignment support. Alternative courses and pathways are also possible. ​​
