Talented Athlete Academy

​​​​Is your child passionate about sport? Wanting to make it a career? Looking to develop their strength and fitness? Conscious of sport specific burn out?

The Talented Athlete academy is a multi sport program that will rapidly develop athletes by accessing the best facilities, coaching staff and resources available in our region for a range of cross over sports. We take a wholistic approach to athlete development including nutrition, S&C, psychology, physical development, and recovery.

How to apply​​

Please ensure that you complete and return the School of Excellence Application Form along with your Trinity Bay State High School Enrolment Form to the school. For 6 into 7 students, this should be no later than midday on Tuesday during the final week of term 1.

Enrolment information, including the necessary forms, can be found on our school's website under the Enrolling at our school tab. 
Complete all forms accurately and in full, including two photocopies of your child's most current report.​
Important note:  Please photocopy all documents; no originals please.

The student can apply and be in more than one program - sometimes a choice between programs will need to be made due to organisation requirements.

Application Process

​​​Stage 1: Apply

After completing all the above, applications will be screened and if successful applicants will move on to stage 2​

Stage 2: Physical Trial

Applicants will attend the physical trials held at Trinity Bay State High School and complete a range of fitness tests and spatial awareness tests.

Stage 3: Notification of acceptance process

  • All data will be thoroughly analysed including trial day results and report card information (behaviour, mathematics, English and health and physical education subject results and attendance). After which a letter of offer or letter of decline will be sent out by the end of term 2.
  • If your child is offered a position, parents will be required to contact the Trinity Bay State High School office to formally accept or decline the offer. If the school does not receive communication from the parents by the due date, the school reserves the right to remove the offer of position.

Stage 4: Parental acceptance

  • To acceptance this position you are required to place a down payment of $100 which will come off your school fees for next year. The due date for this payment is by the end of Term 3. This can be paid at the front counter at the main office at the school.
  • If your child is in more than one excellence program only one payment in total is required.
  • Along with payment, you will be required to return the completed Excellence program contract which was sent home with your letter of offer. 

Eligibility criteria

To be eligible for this program your child must:

  • be receiving a passing grade for mathematics and English (if English is a second language negotiations can be​ discussed on a case by case basis)
  • have a high attendance rate
  • have demonstrated high behaviour standards
  • perform highly during trial day tests
  • agree to and sign the TAC contra​ct​​

  • complete all necessary procedures by advertised deadlines.
