Year 12 Graduation

​On Friday, 19 November 2021, the Year 12 students of Trinity Bay State High School will celebrate their final day of schooling. In the lead up to this very special occasion, the school will hold three official functions during the final week of school. 

  1. Farewell Assembly: 1:50-3:00pm, Thursday, 18 November @ TBSHS Sports Complex. The Farewell Assembly is an opportunity for the school to say its last goodbye to the Year 12 group, and for the senior students to give a last round of thanks to those that have helped them along the way. The Principal will address the group on what will be their last day on the school grounds and the School Captains will speak on behalf of the cohort. The students will sing the Senior Song and say goodbye. This is a school-only event so parents, carers, families and friends do not attend.
  2. Graduation Ceremony: 9:00-11:00am, Friday, 19 November @ TBSHS Sports Complex
  3. The second function is the Year 12 Graduation Ceremony. Attendance for all Year 12 students is compulsory. This formal ceremony marks the completion of school duties for all students, during which they will be presented with their Graduation certificates. Parents, carers, families and friends are invited to attend the event, however prior registration will be required and COVID restrictions may apply. There will be a limit of two guests per student.  
  4. Graduation Dinner: 7:00-11:00pm, Friday, 19 November @ Cairns Convention Centre

The final function is the Year 12 Graduation Dinner. The Graduation Dinner is a celebration of the completion of schooling for our senior students. Attendance is not compulsory, but students are strongly encouraged to attend. The Graduation Dinner is a ticketed event - students and guests must have a ticket to attend. Tickets will cost $130 each. Due to space restrictions set by the Convention Centre, the will be a maximum capacity of 500 inside the hall so tickets will be limited to THREE per student until sold out. Please see below for purchasing instructions.

Graduation Dinner - Ticket Purchasing Procedure

COST: $130 per ticket, maximum 3 tickets per student until sold out.

  1. All students will receive a Graduation Dinner Ticket Order Form.
  2. Students and families to fully complete the order form.
  3. Submit your order form AND pay for your tickets at the Receipting counter in the E Block Reception area.
  4. Bring your receipt of payment to Mr Weston in Y041 to register your guests.

PAYMENTS OPEN: Monday, 12 July 2021

PAYMENTS CLOSE: Friday, 27 August 2021 (or until 500 tickets sold)

As with all school events, students who wish to attend the Graduation Dinner must meet the standard criteria for school clearance:

  • A minimum 87% attendance rate (unless clearance given by the Deputy Principal)
  • All assessment completed and up to date.
  • All unexplained absences are cleared.
  • All school fees and outstanding invoices to be paid, or payment plans to be up to date.
  • Clearance for behaviour must be met, based on the TBSHS behaviour expectations.

Further information about these events will be distributed to all students and families as we progress through the year and get closer to Graduation.
