As you are aware, the External Assessment period for Year 12 students commences next Friday, 22 October 2021. In the Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) system, results for General subjects are based on achievement in three internal assessments and one external assessment. This external assessment is:
- common to all schools
- administered under the same conditions, at the same time and on the same day
- developed and marked by the QCAA according to a commonly applied marking scheme.
In General Mathematics and Science subjects, external assessment result contributes 50% to final subject result. In all other General subjects, it contributes 25%. The external assessment result does not scale the internal assessment result.
