The NCCD data collection is now taking place with the census date for Friday, 5 August 2022.

All schools in Australia complete the census for education authorities.

Students are counted in the NCCD if they receive ongoing adjustments at school due to disability.

This “help' allows students to access education on the same basis as a child without disability.

The NCCD uses the definition of disability in the Disability Discrimination Act 1992, which identifies a broad range of disabilities ( learning, medical, imputed or formal diagnosis) under the domains of cognitive, physical, sensory, social/emotional.

Student privacy is protected, personal details such as student names or student identifiers, are not provided to federal education authorities.
