Trinity Bay State High School offers several pathways for students in senior secondary.

Our pathways to success (PDF, 141KB) include both university and workforce pathways.

All students are expected to achieve a Queensland certificate of education (PDF, 59KB). Some students may be invited to complete a Queensland certificate of individual achievement (QCIA).

University pathway

Students study 5 or 6 authority subjects and sit the Queensland core skills test. These students qualify for a Queensland certificate of education and overall position (PDF, 343KB).

Students can also use a QTAC selection rank to be eligible to enrol at university. These students can sit the Queensland core skills test to improve their selection rank. Students qualify for a Queensland certificate of education.

Practice Queensland core skill tests are held annually in year 11 and 12 to prepare students for the Queensland core skills test in September of year 12.

Workforce pathway

Students study 6 subjects, mainly authority registered and may or may not include a vocational education and training certificate. Students qualify for a Queensland certificate of education.

Senior education and training plan

It is during the compulsory year 10 into 11 interview that students and their parents establish a senior education and training plan (PDF, 41KB).

Work experience

All year 10 students have the opportunity to participate in the work experience program during the last week of term 2.

All senior secondary students are able to participate in a work experience program during the school holidays. Expressions of interest can be made to Mrs Kim Bannister, Senior secondary assistant - kbann8@eq.edu.au
