The school library collection contains over 30,000 resources including 5 online databases. The Collection is constantly being updated to ensure that the best possible information services are available, and the range of reading material will cater to all ages, literary tastes, and abilities. Suggestions for future purchases are always welcome.

The library has several purpose built areas;

  • an ICT laboratory with 28 Apple Mackintosh computers and an Interactive White Board
  • 2 Media rooms that feature a Plasma TV in Media 1 and an Interactive White Board in Media 2
  • a Research area with 16 Apple Mackintosh computers and print resources
  • 2 quiet reading areas with inviting comfortable chairs
  • a Senior study area that features carrels and comfortable chairs for individual reading or study.

Students in Years 8-10 may borrow up to 2 fiction and 2 non-fiction books, each for two weeks. Students in Years 11 and 12 may borrow up to 2 fiction and 4 non-fiction books for two weeks. All books may be renewed if not overdue or reserved by another student. There are also a variety of newspapers and magazines available for recreational reading as well as research tasks. These are regularly renewed with old issues archived in the Resource Room.
The library also hosts the textbook hire scheme. Text books are issued to students at the beginning of each year and returned one week before each year level departs at the end of the year.

If researching assignments, you can access one of our online subscription databases for academic and journal articles, such as the school's Ebscohost database. Ask the school librarian for the Username and Password to access these.
Having difficulty finding information? You can search the ACCESIT Library catalogue from library Opacs or through the link on this webpage. If you need assistance ask the Library staff.
Having trouble writing your assignment? Read the student Guide to get a head start.
